l- zl-fi Without a song, life In and out of school would be almost unbelievable The Girls Choir, Musically spreads that ray of sunshine throughout our day THOUGHTS OF YESTERDAY While lying here in my bed in the confines of a hospital room shared by two other patients l remmisce a little about the hours that have passed, the hours that soon will be called yesterday Yes yesterday to me seems like a magic word For it is the yester Clays that mean so much In a persons lite To some woman In this hospital yesterday ended the muffled agony and pain of labor and marked the beginning of a new life cl lite now shared with the presence of a tiny dovwny haired human being To some child In this great wide world yesterday meant the emergure from a dark and lonely room A room where he previously sat staring out of the window watching the wonders ot the world arouno which to him then seemed only a fairy tale where he could not trespass because he could not walk until yesterday To others the world over yesterday meant a day of a miracle A miracle because they had stumbled through what seemed like It would mean they could see Yes they were blind, and yesterday and medical science and God brought them vision Sight a precious commodity which so many people take for granted l slt up now and stare out of the window Thoughts enter my mmd thoughts of yesterday Yesterday To me the magic word will mean ll hope and prayj the end ot a life full of dull uninteresting sublects Small things like the trees the houses the animals he birds the bright smiling faces that will take on new meaning to me because tor the first time in my life I will be able to see them as l was meant to see them from the beginning of my life Not divided or blurred or all at one time But I will be able to see them separately individually I will be able to look at people without any doubt in their minds that I am looking at them Yes, yesterday that one word we should thank God for I recline now and my mmd ns peaceful and quiet and l remimsce a little about the hours that have passed, the hours that soon will be called yesterday Written by Hazel M Johnson M .
