Charles Johnson New and surprising evudence found un our daily luves shows clearly the number of people with a hugh school educatuon Twenty years ago the num ber of hugh school graduates was about one third the present day number and fifty years ago the number of hugh school graduates would be dumunushed by almost seventy per cent Wuth thus idea un mind the students and graduates of hugh schools should be putting forth more effort and struvung to absorb all of the materual taught to them by their teachers Mr Davage our History teacher us always sayung The nunety a student makes un hus school should be equivalent to the nunety of any other student from any other school un the Unuted States ls thus true today? Thus question alone us a very broad one and has many phases but I shall only discuss one Today most graduates find that 'obs are harder to acquure because of the larger number of suutable applicants Even In business firms where countless posutuons are avaulable vacancues are becomung very rare The graduates of today are finding the going tougher and more competitive than un prev uous years Jobs of manual labor requures workers to have at least a hugh school duploma Profes suonals who prevuously never needed an educatuon find themselves replaced by people who have had formal educatuon There are ways of decreasing the amount of competutuon The most umportant method us remaun ung un school and tryung to do the best work pos sible If the work taught usnt clear or coherent don t be ashamed or embarrassed to let the teacher know that you do not understand what us being taught Another way us by tryung to go to college or preparatory school un order to uncrease your knowl edge and become better equipped for your entrance to the outsude world the world of hugh school graduates o Pausung for Station ldentufucatuon un Education Shirley Stancul We as youth of today have much to consider in order to accomplish our goal-being efficient adults of tomorrow. Therefore, let's begin our program early. First, and foremost, striving daily to achieve success depends largely upon the preparation we have made previously. Plan your program, follow it, if however it be- comes necessary to pause for station break in Edu- cation, continue again, don't give up striving even harder than before. If a task is once begun, never leave it till its done be its laborer great or small do it well or not at all. Let these words become food for your daily thoughts. There is no time to pause for station break in Education. One who allows other things to interfere with his education will soon lose sight of his goal. Let us too consider this never ending thought, We owe it to ourselves and others to continue our edu- cation for there is No Pause For Station Identification In Education.
