BASKETBALL TEAM MR. J.R. SHARPE, COACH Charles Williams, Sidney Williams, Robert Walton, Nathaniel McCray Walter Burt, James Pace, Avon Lawson, Alonzo Pettus, Fred Stewart, Felix Brown, Robert Boyd. fNot Pictured, Billie Greerj. Bobby Daniels, served as trainer and Arthur Ghant as Scorer. Walter Burt and Nathaniel McCray led the 1952-1953 Bearcats of the hardwood as co-captains to a Z0-10 record for the season. This is an over-all record including tournament play. Four of these losses were in out-of-State competion. Only 6 games were lost to Arkansas teams while winning 20. The attack was led by Sidney Williams who averaged 17 points per game and ably sup- ported by Felix Brown and Boyd Greer. McCray must be cited for his backboarding defensive play. The climax of the yearwas the last game of the season whenthe Bearcats broke the 50- called Jones Jinx by defeat- ing them in a double overtime game 51-50. Up in the Air --Felix Brown
