DULLES - 17 PEHRLAND - O Against Pearland Dulles opened the scoring in the first half with a 38 yard field goal. On the first play in the second half Blackmon broke up the middle for a '78 yard run. Keith Castle scored later to cap the Viking scoring. The defense tallied its first shutout in six games. DULLES - 41 DICKINSON - O Dulles broke the homecoming jinx by crushing the Dickinson Gators. The offense compiled a total of 481 yards in the drizzling rain. The defense held the Gators to a total of 60 yards. DULLES - 0 ANGLETON - 3 The Vikes traveled to Angleton for their fifth district game . It was a defensive struggle all the way, with the Cats capitalizing on a pass interception, which ended with a 23 yard field goal. DULLES - 19 GALVESTON BALL - 27 Dulles' next opponent was the 8-1 Tors. Galveston's pass attack, along with poor officiat- ing, shot down the Vikings. The Viking offense rolled in the sec- ond half, pulling to within one point. The Tors weren't fin- ished , however, as they scored in the final minutes to secure a vic- tory. DULLES - 14 ALVIN - 6 The Vikings closed out the '75 season by defeating Alvin to up the Vikes' district record to 4-3 . The first half was a defensive battle with both teams scoreless. In the second half, the Viking offense rolled with Castle con- necting with Greg Davidson for a touchdown and Blackmon adding six more with a two yard run, after which Castle hit Davidson for the two point conversion. Late in the game, Alvin recovered a fumble on the Viking two and scored four plays later. 1. Sandy Sanderson flys for a Texas City running back. 2. Brad MacDonald and Greg Davidson zero in on a Northbrook defender. 3. Vikings go high in an attempt to block an extra point. 4. Texas City defender barely misses Robert Bledsoe's pressure point. 5. DULLES - 23 LAMAR CONS. - 3 The mighty Vikings opened the 1975 season on a winning note by defeating the Lamar Consolidated Mustangs 23-3. The first touchdov was scored by quarterback Sandy Sanderson. Dulles added a field goal and took a 10-0 halftime lea: The Mustangs managed a third quarter field goal, but to no avail The tide turned when Rudy Kiser intercepted a Mustang pass and returned it 48 yards for a touch- down. Craig Blackmon scored the final touchdown for the Vikings on 14 yard run. DULLES - 2 NORTHBROOK - 8 Dulles' next opponent was a well drilled Northbrook team. The Raid ers took advantage of a Viking turn over on the 19 yard line. The Raid ers scored in six plays and the two point conversion was good. The lone Viking score came on a safety in the third quarter. DULLES - 16 DEER PARK - 14 The Vikings traveled to Deer Par for their second victory of the sea- son . The Vikes were in complete control of the first half, putting together drives of 63 and 58 yards. Dulles trapped the Deer quarterbacl in the end zone for a safety to end the Viking scoring. DULLES - 14 TEXAS CITY - 7 Dulles played host to Texas City for the district opener. The Vikes took control of the opening kickoff, driving '77 yards with Mike Oliphant going over from the two. The Sting: came back in the second quarter with a passing attack and scored with no time left in the first half. Dulles bounced back with a second half touchdown to put them ahead for good . DULLES - 9 LAMARQUE - 21 The powerful LaMarque Cougars came to town with a 4-0 record. Dulles was the first to score with a 42 yard field goal. The tenacious Cougar defense accounted for most of their scoring, with a return of a blocked punt and an interception return. Statistically, the Vikings outplayed the Cougs, but the Cou- gars emerged victorious. 1 186 5
