K Ax? ,H A' I - C The 1963 football season started with an exciting win over the Bellville Brahmas, 13-2. The next week the Vikings marked up another win over the Alvin Yellowjackets, 13-6. Continuing their success, the Vikings beat Dickinson, 27-6. The first defeat of the season came at the hands of the Katy Tigers, 37 -20, but the Vikings, with never dampened spirits, returned the following week to trounce Ganado, 28-O. The final pre- district game with Mt. Carmel 6 and Dulles 21, set the Vikings up for the best year in the school's history of football.

NEEDVI LLE - O DULLES - 14 Charles Hauerland scored the first touchdown and Ralph Senior kicked the extra point soon in the second half, An interruption by Johnny Marks set the Vikings up for their last touchdown. Red Binford on a keeper crossed the goal line from the sixth and Senior kicked the extra point. BOLING - 14 DULLES - 3 Despite the fact that both teams fought valiantly, it was not until the fourth quarter that either team scored. Ralph Senior kicked a 26 yard field goal which proved to be Dulles' only score. Boling's Watkins received a scoring pass. A Dulles fumble on the 12 yard line set up Boling's second touchdown. SANTA FE-0 DULLES-49 The first and second touchdowns were scored by Ralph Senior scored twice before the half. George Tanner started in the second half with two touch down passes, the first to John Keller, and the second to Gilbert Mundkowsky. Royce Reams added extra points and several first downs in the second half. The Indians failed to make a single first down. SWEENY -O DULLES - 15 Ralph Senior scored the only touchdown in the first half and in the 3rd quarter he kicked a 25 yard field goal. Charles Hauerland scored the final touchdown of the night with powerful runs through the line. Senior was the work-horse of the night gaining 187 of the Vikings total 315 yards. The stubborn Viking defense held the Bulldogs to only 72 yards.
