Y I CLASS PROPHECY Louise Monk married that cute little sailor that she was after at the end of school' They are living at Broolclyn Navy Base which pleases her immensely Donald Reeves another sailor from the class is now a Lieu tenant Commander on a battleship he will take over his dules as head of the C-reat Lakes Naval Training Station Marie Phipps that new Broadway singing sensation is none other than Mane Phipps of the class of 48 She has started in several leading stage shows and now has her own radio program Asif that weren t enough she has become a favorite recording artist and is entering the field of television' And that s the girl who said she couldn t do it' We didn t hear from Opal Smith for a few years and didn t know where she was until last week when we received a letter from her She is stationed in Africa where she is in charge of the Meth odist Mission This is a high position and has been awarded to her for her untirmg work in the spreading of Christianity to remote tribes of Africa Elmer Smith remembered best as Post Hole owns sev eral barber shops in Harford and adjoining counties He certainly has his hands full keeping a chain of shops running smoothly and Lois Steele was one of the first to realize her ambition that of becoming a nurse She really is doing well for herself being the new superintendent of nurses at Church Home Hospual But of course we expected as much of Lois She always did stick to a job that she started jack Tuck is now a top accountant at the lncome Tax Bureau in W ashington D C Remember when he played a trumpet in the school orchestra Now he has his own little band on the side and me hear it is one of the best of its size in the United States David Jackson IS the newly elected President of Western Electric He knows about all there IS to electricity and is experi mentmg for bigger and better things in electricity lna Wolfe is the girl who always wanted to write and she has realized her ambition by becoming a Foreign Correspondent She is the London reporter for the Associated Press Also she has done the impossible by being admitted to Russia to report on con ditions there She is writing novels on the side and aiming toward a best seller Farmer Beau Barley is the proud owner of a huge dairy farm near Darlington lt is one of the largest farms in Maryland and is a good example to others and the envy of every would be farmer Well that s the class of 48 a class that Dublin can be well be proud of The reunion is over and those who have been rem xnicing and renewing old friendships go out into the world once more to take up the ruling question What will the next ten years brmg them 1 . f n a .
