CLASS PROPHECY lI949j One Wednesday mght after diligently re viewing the subjects covered by the past years currlculum I was sitting ln medxtatlon when I was startled from my reverre by the appearance of a handsome gentleman who apparently was of great age and yet I received an lmpresslou of agelessness Introducing himself as the f turtsuc interpreter he mvtted me to accompany htm to a prevlew of the future He then waved hrs arms ln a complicated fashlon and a hell copter which had been hovering overhead gent ly settled to a landing on my lawn We stepped aboard and as my companion threw a number of switches were whisked away gaining altitude at an enormous rate Slowly the world assumed the shape of a globe as we proceeded farther toward an object ln the sky which the interpreter mformed me was the celestlal Mount Olympus After an hours journey we accomplished a feather light landing in a vast amphrtheater Followmg our arrival seats tn the bulldlng began filling w1th ghosts of the past and a huge projector was wheeled 1n at one end of the enclosure I was mformed that this instrument was capable of projecting the future by a complicated employment of the twelfth dlmenslon The audience became hushed and hummmg nolse filled the air as the projector began drawmg energy from Oak Ridge by an atomrc beam A procession of events began marchmg across the screen and were alternately cheered and booed by the audtence Imagine my surprise when I recognized Dora Baker elbowmg her way through a subway crowd hurrymg to a small office xn New York where she pursues a lxvelx hood as file clerk in a theatrical bookmg agency! Who IS that hanging on her arm? Why 1ts none other than Mona Barnes and Eloxse John son who are employed by the same firm As their conversation becomes louder I can hear them dlscussmg the POSSIblllly of Margaret Reed as the star of a current productton Her leading man IS none other than that wonderful dream male Stinkee Golden As they leave the subway I lose slght of them but my attention IS drawn to a 301 story structure bemg completed in the very near future A sign in front of ll says ARCHITECTS ack Kmle james Lampley and Harold Txdwell Help' Stop html Oh what a relief I thought someone was committing suicide but ll was only Ken Morrow leaping from the 205th floor I now realize that he was practicing for his next movie Tarzon Steps Low Thls production vull be directed by Ross McClintock and was wrltten by that well known authoress Sabra VVrxght Sabra always was so good in English' The scene swltches down to Massachusetts and mto a Boston restaurant The chefs Kenneth Smith and Douglas Powers have gained quite a reputation for their Tennessee corn Suddenly all we can see xs smoke but as xt clears away I realize ll was only a sllght explo- sion m the chemical plant owned by Polly Skel leys mtllronalre husband It seems that Chxef Chemist Marlon Wilson and his assistant Lo- retla Moore forgot a simple chemtstry rule Confound xt Wllsonl Betty Joyce Owen IS the plant nurse and 15 kept very busy by just such antics Also employed by Pollys husband IS Donme Man Rives who recently won a national speed contest rn typmg She ts head of all the office work 'Ihe plant overlooks the Atlantlc Ocean and I can plalnly vxew a large shlp coming mto Boston Harbor As ll docks I see Don Craig Hensley Eugene Wilson Walter Moore and Lehman Cook debarklng and bemg met by their old buddy Bill Smith a well known pillow manufacturer Next we are qulckly taken down to Old Hlck ory Tennessee where we see the Time Ofbce work ln the Rayon Plant bemg well done by Bonnie jean Sxrcy jean Pendarvls Reba Helton Loutse jones and Mary Sue Mayhugh Doris McCaleb xs secretary to the Cellophane Plant manager john Glddmgs Emerson Eubanks who ts employed as a chemical engineer IS now married to the former Betty jean Pugh Pal Hawkins a promlnent wxne farmer prac trces medlcxne on the side Hrs wife who was Marte Parker also serves as his nurse ean Dedman the famous bram surgeon at Vander brlt is ably assisted rn her work by Ila Warrick and Frances Christian Their latest patient was Foster Pendley who I am told had several abnormal bram cond1t1ons treated Foster was a very promlsmg businessman and had Mary Sue Txdwell servmg as his secretary Wonder why??
