A f l . . . .... . . H' E 7 Y C Diary of Senior Class SEPTEMBER First day of school. No schedule for classes-no books-no classes-no nothing but teachers and pupils. Mr. Binkley starts his regular announcements in assembly. Schedule of classes decided on. Woe be unto the poor teachers. Senior Class officers were elected today. Such an election has never before been held or will ever be held again. The great day is here, Friday the thirteenth. It was decided that we would have an annual. Holiday for State Fair. Mr. Johnson came today. We like him very much. One hundred and sixty-five dollars 1551655 is our start on advertisements for the annual. O, boy! Ain't it a grand and glorious feeling? Class rings were shown us today, but nothing was decided on. Rings selected-class is very much pleased-we feel like sure enough seniors now. Invitations selected today. Football game against plant boys. Lunch room opened today. . We got a few more advertisements. Sophs and Freshies are making moves toward the top on Annual Graph. First real game was with McEwen-score 47-o in favor of DuPont. We are almost to the top on the graph-it won't be long now. OCTOBER Thomas Edison's picture. VVe played Watertown in football on Watertown's Held-score 18-6 in Watertown's favor- not so bad. We played Hartsville on DuPont field-score 26-O in favor of us. First endurance test-Coutline in Englishj. Mr. johnson gave a talk on the Ideal Student. We played Smithville and won. Gray made a touchdown on the kick-off. We played Wartrace here-Bowen got hurt-score 18-o in favor of DuPont. NOVEMBER Hume-Fogg football game. Gray hurt-score I3-O-HUmC-F0gg'S favor. Lebanon football game-Tom got hurt-nearly all Hrst team out-score 41-0 in favor of Lebanon. White Bluff supposed to play here, but game was cancelled. The first snow of season fell. Football banquet and one big time. DECEMBER Greenbrier here-girls won and boys won. Lebanon girls here-DuPont won, 26-24. Boys played Bell High. DuPont girls played Mt. Juliet. Stunt night. Greenbrier girls won. Boys lost at Greenbrier. Georgia Shields shot a goal. DuPont girls went to Lebanon and lost. Out for Christmas holidays. JANUARY School reopened today after a wonderful Christmas. Boys' football sweaters came today. Andrew Jackson Society presented school with picture of Andrew Jackson. Examinations start. ' Cookeville beat girls in basketball, 25-21. DuPont boys beat Cookeville, I8-9. David Lipscomb played DuPont girls. VVe lost-score 25-23. DuPont boys won, 25-9. English examination today. 'iid A 'ai . . 1 C g, c 1 N E Facts The Parent-Teacher Association is an important factor in our school life and We want to express our thanks for all they have done for us. The Athletic Association is very active in getting the school to sup- port athletics and are now making a plan by which all members of the school may see the games at half fare and still make expenses. Mr. Ferguson, as president of the association, is doing splendid work in developing loyalty. Malissa Rives is vice-president and Paul Lowery is secretary and treasurer.
