Student ctivities Board The Student Activities Board is the coordinating body for student activities and is chaired by the Vice-President of the Student Body. The membership consists of 13 Drake students and the Student Activities Coordinator as advisor. The students are: the chairpersons of the nine C95 standing committees of the SAB, a representative of the Residence Hall Association, a representative of the Greek sys- tem, the SAB treasurer, and the Vice-President ofthe Student Body. The SAB Committees and their functions are: CAMPUS VIDEO: CVC presents weekly video programming by means of the Video Beam in the Rathskellar. Shows are of a diverse nature and will include concerts, series, and docu- mentaries. ELECTION, CALENDAR, AND CERTIFICATION: The primary duties of ECC are to supervise all campus-wide elections, publish the monthly activities calendar, and certify the recogni- tion of all new student organizations on campus. EXHIBITS: Exhibits Committee presents art exhibits primarily in the Olmsted Center. FILMS: Films Committee is responsible for the selection, coordination and presentation of all SAB-funded film programs on campus. Films include those with a popular entertainment appeal, special festivals, and those from a variety of artistic and social genres. MAJOR ATTRACTIONS: MAC plans, sponsors and supervises all major concerts and enter- tainment attractions for the SAB. In addition, MAC seeks to serve as a resource committee for other student organizations who seek to put on similar programs by advising them on talent, agencies, facilities and technical problems. NATIONAL-INTERNATIONAL AWARENESS: N-IAC sponors speakers and programs of current cultural and educational significance to the University and the surrounding community. SPECIAL PROJECTS: This committee is responsible for Homecoming activities, Parents Weekend, programming, bus trips, carnivals, maintaining the Hooks for Books board, and the National Ride Board. Both boards are lo- cated in the Olmsted Center. STUDENT RELAYS: Relays committee plans and sponsors all student initiated events during Relays, as well as super- llrs I vising the traditional Relays parade. STUDENT UNION: SUC is responsible for conducting a variety of programs in the Olmsted Center qcoffeehouses and dances.J SUC also conducts all SAB tournaments, in- cluding Campus Bowl, and is responsible for coordinating all organized travel programs and recreational excursions. --ii i as Jerry 0'Rourke X I Student Body, Vice-President g Chairman of Student Activities Board .. 2 L .
