SEVENTH COLLEGE, TENTI-I DEAN Pharmacy Dean E. O, Ka COLLEGE OF PHARMACY ADDED TO DRAKE UNIVERSITY March I4, 57 students were added to the roster when the Des Moines College of Pharmacy became the college of pharmacy of Drake university. Bringing the total colleges to seven and the num- ber of deans to IO, this is the first college to be added to the university since I923 when the depart- ment of commerce and finance became a college. A school of pharmacy was once included in the Drake curriculum, but was discontinued in IQO6. E. O. Kagy, dean at the Des Moines College of Pharmacy, continues his deanship at Drake. Other faculty members added to the Drake staff are Lee Worrell, professor of biology: J. Earle Galloway, pro- fessor in materia medica, and John B. Shumaker, professor of chemistry. Three professional organizations have come on the campus with the new college. They are Phi Delta Chi and Kappa Psi, professional pharmacy fraternities, and Lambda Kappa Sigma, professional pharmacy sorority. An orgy of redecorating in the science hall made ready that building for new students who arrived on the campus April I7. North side of the science halI's second floor was equipped to provide better facilis ties for advanced chemistry courses. Offices for the pharmacy college staff and one laboratory for pri- vate research were furnished and the basement floor was completely remodeled into four modern labora- tories and a dispensing room for elementary and advanced biology courses. A bachelor of science in pharmacy degree will be given graduates of the college. Courses offered are those required by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education, the examining and stand- ardizing committee for pharmacy colleges.
