The first thing the freshmen did as a class was select a slate of officers. To lead them in their first year of high school, they chose Marsha VanderGiesen as their president. Tim Moore was elect- ed Vice President; Kir by Mullen, secre- tary; Roger Nyhoff, treasurer; and Ann Lawson, student coun- cil representative. These five students led their twenty-seven classmates through their first year at Downs High School. THfRTV-TWO m CU N ENTtR Thirty-three green freshmen entered the halls of DHS this year. After being properly initiated by the seniors, they entered into the regular schedule of high school life. The freshmen became active members of the organizations and music groups.
