CQJS Jlglsfory We, like many students who have attended Downlngtown Industrial School, in the ninth, tenth, or eleventh grade, most likely have said, I'll never reach the twelfth grade, but our class motto says, 'Climb though the road may be rugged. Our class began on September 6, 1954, sponsored by Col. H, D. Queen. We had eight boys and two girls. Out of the ten we have only two survivors, Lloyd Smith and Wallace Roney. In our tenth grade year, we had nineteen students and in our eleventh grade year we had twenty-four, now in our last year we boast a total of twenty- two students. We haven't accomplished much ln sports, but we have tried to show sportsmanship when we were beat. We had teamwork in planning and putting over successfully our big event, the Junior-Senior Prom. In closing I do hope our efforts will be crowned with success and happiness and that we will be considered as a blessing to the world in which we live. D, I. S, I'm glad I came to D, I, S, It keeps me bright and gay The work we do, the things we say With all the work and play, The dining room bright was my delight I liked my teachers too That's the fun around D,I, S, I hope you will like it too, - Lillian Burns LLOYD SMITH and WALLACE RONEY

GQJJ 7909122 REMEMBRA NCE' We leave you now in love and grace Now the world we have to face We look ahead for something new Where can we go? What can we do? Then we remember our teachers' looks When we refused to study our books They tried so hard to teach us right But we were like strangers in the night, We have tried to conquer the thought in mind To do our best in every line We will remember what we were taught So in the wide world we won't get caught.
