Bill Cosby, stand-up comic, actor, and educator, returned to television this season starring in the highest rated new series on any network since the I978-i979 season. The Cosby- Show portrays the life of the Huxta- ble family as they deal with all kinds of problems that many families en- counter every day. The Cosby Show has that wonderful, caring, loving feeling storyline with the underlin- ing images that come across to the public. The true meaning of this show can best be described by Bill Cosby, himself, as quoted in Ebony magazine. This is a show with a Black American Family, but what's important in this show is that our family represents 90 percent of all people out in the audience. We are family and the humor comes out of our attitudes toward each other and life in general. This show will work to show all Americans that if they really love OUR children, all children are the same the world over. This dynamic TV show has people of all ages across the U.S. glued to the TV on Thursday nights. Miami Vicev: Starring in this blockbuster television show, Ricar- do CPhilip Michael Thomasj Tubbs and Sonny QDon Johnsonj Crockett play a pair of smooth operating de- tectives who cruise Miami's drug infested streets in a black Ferrari, wearing Gianni Versace suits and melt-on-your-skin Italian-made tank shirts. Thomas and Johnson have become heroes, sex symbols, and fashion plates - in fact, men are even getting married in Miami Vice Tuxedo wear. Since the season pre- miere their popularity has sur- passed anything imaginable. Miami Vice is such an exciting show that it is even keeping teenagers home on Friday nights. Thomas and Johnson are riding the crest of fortune and fame. They are rich, celebrated, and sought after - Will their popu- larity ever end?

Coke shirts, jeans, sweaters and hats swamped the stores as people of all ages fought over the correct size. From whites to neon brights, big shirts were coming on strong over minis, stirrups and shorts. And the best place to buy them was in your favorite department store - in the boys' section. Authentic and inexpensive, these oversized shirts were accented with bow-ties, neckties, suspenders and extra- large sweaters also found in the boys' section. To add to the menswear effect, oxfords were the shoes to wear. With socks on the outside of the pants, the beaten-up look was the most popular. Borrowed from the boysl Baroque 8: Beaunful The spirit of the baroque era made an impressive comeback. This fall's fashions were overflowing with rich textures and designs of the seventeenth century. Brocade vests, tapestry skirts and paisley jackets were everywhere. But to achieve the true baroque-look. clothes needed to be accented with big and bold antique jewelry. Here at school, brooches and paisley were the things to wear. Yes. even the guys wore paisley!!
