The light streaming from these windows is symbolic of the knowledge that we as seniors have obtained in our years of schooling. When we entered Dover High School only a gleam of light was present. Through the efforts of students and teachers working together, that small light began to grow. Now our knowledge resembles the flame of a candle. As we, the Class of 1959, depart from the doors of Dover High School and open the doors of new experiences and opportunities, our candle of knowledge will burn brightly to guide us and enlighten our paths as we assume our roles in life. 3 a . .. -JL- u - - jM y f ■ ?■ - us£% -'(■• ■- j tysj «? . LET S SIT AWHILE. POSING. DANCING. 130 Resting by the iountain. PROM On May 2, 1958, the D. H. S. gym was converted into a celestial ballroom when the class of 1959 honored the Seniors at the prom. The theme chosen was Gateway To Paradise. The beautiful fountain reflected a multicolored effect as the water rose several feet into the air. Roses of several colors floated on the pond surrounding the fountain. Clouds hung over the dance floor giving a heavenly effect to the couples below. Tired from dancing, couples relaxed on the white wrought iron furniture. As the clock ticked off 12 o'clock, each person filed out through the golden gates of paradise. TOO TIRED TO DANCE. PROM Few people realize the amount of work that goes into the preparation of a prom. Work began in the early part of the junior year. To raise money a car wash, Halloween concession stand, and a public dance were sponsored. As soon as plans for the theme were completed, work- began immediately on decorations, programs, tickets, and food. The big event finally arrived. Through the co-operation of advisors, class officers, committee members, and classmates, the prom presented by the class of 1959 was a complete success. ALMA MATER We lift our voices in praise of thee Dear Dover High Thy Gray and Crimson let all men see Floating on high In victory's thrill or in defeat From truth and right we'll ne'er retreat. Fairest Alma Mater, Unfurl thy banner fair. May each son and daughter, Learn to do and dare. Mem'ries dear we'll cherish Of our school days free Dear old Dover High, We'll always loyal be. 32
