jke CALM of 7958 !Qfe5enf4 U15 Swirl Dover Hugh School Our class has always had a strange attraction to and interest in the sea and aquatic life. During our first years of high school, when we held our class parties at the Y.M.C.A., the pool was always the most popular place for the girls as well as the boys. In the tenth year we held a dance to earn funds for our treasury and used as our theme, Underwater Fantasy. As iuniors, our interest in the sea had definitely not diminished. Our class again chose an aquatic theme for the prom we gave the seniors. This time we named it Fanta-Sea. When it was time to choose a pattern for our yearbook, we considered many themes. Again we turned to our favorite subject, the sea, and we, the class of '58, are proud to present FANTA-SEA for the Swirl. f 'X 9- ,, I H mf Admlnlstrahon pp 5 14 Seniors pp 15 34 Clubs Underclassmen Sfucleni' Life Afhlehcs pp 81 102 pp 117128 2 K pp 103116 Muslc Qnlfenb pp. 61-80 S1 .. .. we t,'Qr- W afgcfminidfrafion The administration of any school system accepts a great responsibility in preparing the youth of today to be the leaders of tomorrow. At the present time Dover's Board of Education is faced with the problem of increased enrollment and inadequate classroom space for the students. It is much more difficult for the faculty to teach when only limited facilities are available. Our teachers and educational leaders are an inspiration to learning, and we are deeply indebted to them for all they have given us. Portraits are made, announcements, caps and gowns are ordered, and before we realize it, Commencement Day, May 26, has arrived. On that long-awaited night, May 3, 1957, couples could be seen approaching D.H.S. in colorful evening clothes. Because of our interest in aquatics, our class chose Fanta-Sea as the theme for the prom. The ballroom was decorated to give an underwater effect, with live mermaids, a glittering treasure chest, and a sunken pirate ship, on which the orchestra' was seated. After the prom everyone enioyed the dinner in the equally beautifully decorated cate- teria. This evening will always remain a memor- able occasion in the history of the class of l958. r lf! s POSING? . ., h t gi K- if CHATTING WITH THE MERMAIDS.
