The Senior Class of ,69 yells during the spirit cup competition at the first pep assembly. The new Seniors tooh the reins of leadership as the new year began. The close of summer came all too soon as school opened on August 27. The new Freshmen wandered around the halls looking for classes, going in the wrong restrooms, and generally acting like the newcomers that they were. The new Seniors quickly took power as the leading upper classmen, while the Juniors moved up closer to the day when they would run the school. Our foreign exchange student, Su- sanne Christiansen, from Denmark, was introduced to the studentbody at the AFS mixer dance early in Septem- ber. The first pep assembly brought out most of the school, and the Sopho- mores took the pep cup for the first time. The beginning of school brought with it all the joys of going to DHS, teachers, tests, getting kicked out of the library, football games, and the visions of the future winter months and activities.
