Af fhe inifial meefing of fhe class, Bob Nash was elecfed presidenf wifh La Dorna Romine, Sally Darnell, June Rhodes, Carl Swanson and Jim Hayfhornewhife filling fhe offices of vice presidenf, secrefary and freasur- er, girl represenfafive, boy represenfafive, and yell leader respecfively. As cusfomary, we painfed fhe and if we do say so ourselves, if was a neaf job of face-Iiffing. During our freshman year we puf on a hilarious comedy called, Who Gefs fhe Car Tonight fhaf was coached by Mrs. Eunice Plumb, af fhaf fime our class sponsor. Af fhe I-Ii-Jinx Carnival our class had fhe bingo boofh up-sfairs in fhe old gym. When we came baclc in fhe fall of '39, we were a liffle older, and also a liffle wiser. We resumed our worlc and soon became used fo geffing up af 7:00 fo gef fo our 8:00 o'cloclc classes on fime. Re-elecfing Bob Nash as presidenf wifh Bill Cowan, Sally Darnell, lvlinneffe I-Iarris, Jean I-Iowe, George Diamos, Osmond Collier, and Paf Wesfbroolc assisfing him, we, a group of haughfy cord bedeclced, and make-up adorned know-if-all sophomores, looked forward fo a successful year. We noficeably beffered our financial condifion by sponsoring a darf boofh in fhe annual I-Ii-Jinx Carnival, buf, however, fhis was fhe only economic venfure of fhe class fhaf proved fo be profifable. Upperclassmen, fhaf's us now, and we foolc parf in every funcfion fhe school had and some acfivifies of our own on fhe side. Our main problem was finances, buf wifh our capable officers and sponsors, we made enough fo fake us fhrough fhe year. We sponsored fwo shows by Lesse-IIi's marion. effes and had fhe darf boofh al fhe I-Ii-Jinx Carnival. Our officers for Ihis year were Jim I-layfhornewhife-Presidenf, Bob McCue-Vice presidenf, Sally Darnell-Secrefary, King Kenny-Treasurer, Jean Howe-Girl represenfa- five, Jack Eiclcs-Boy represenfafive, and Philip Dunford-Yell leader. We were very 'forfunafe in having individual picfures falcen for fhe annual in our Junior year, foo. The Quiz assembly we presenfed fo fhe sfudenf-body was a fake-off of a Kay Kyser program, and if proved very comical wifh some of fhe replies given by fhe sludenfs parficipafing. The annual Junior Banguef was held May I7fh and was alrfended by approximafely one hun- dred and fiffy sfudenfs, fhe fables being arranged in a big '42, As fhe

The Sadie I-Iawlcirrs dance and The ValenTine dance were very successTul and increased our money resources. DiTch Day was held April 6 aT Cave Creek and The class musT be complimenTed Tor conducT. NoT one Teacher was ducked in The dam as They had been in previous years. The sponsoring oT The school play Ever Since Eve by our class broughT in considerable money.
