This is the 19th Annual published, and through the years each class has strived to improve the contents, making it bigger and more complete. We have portrayed the cur- ricular and extracurricular activities of our school, through the various pictures of our stu- dents, classrooms, and our ath- letes in action, We sincerely hope that this Annual will give many hours of pleasant reminiscence. g 4 X I I ff' If .aff k H -M.. With a predominately Sophomore squad, it is entirely possible that by District time', D. C. H. S. will live up to its awesome reputation of being a Tournament Team. Due to the fact that the Huskie Highlight must necessarily go to press before the 1957 Track season begins, we can ,only review last season and give credit to returning men. A wave of enthusiasm for this sport of individuals has turned D. C. H, S. into a 4 veritable powerhouse. In dual competition, only two meets were lost 1Denver Cherry Creek, and South High. 1 Other than that, the Huskie cindermen waylaid a succession of opponents including Alameda, Evergreen, Jefferson, Bear Creek, Cheyenne Mt. , Fountain, and Federal Correctional. In the Class A state qualifying meet for Metropolitian schools, D.C. H, S. was a six-point loser to Louisville in team standings: but nine Huskies qualified for the state meet at Boulder. Most memorable event of the entire season was at the Denver University Relays for Colorado preps. On a windy and rain-soaked track, the 440-yd combination of McKin- ster, Brendlinger, Arfsten and King picked up 3rd place medals, but only after a tremen- dous stretch duel with College High and Lamar had brought the topcoat crowd to its feet. Although McKinster, Arfsten and King must now be replaced, the job will be made easier by the return of at least a dozen lettermen including those shown on the next page This Page is Sponsored by CAMPBELL HARDWARE and CASTLE ROCK DRY GOODS .. 4 BRENDLINGER E- AU-IS Member last year's 440 Contender' crack sprint corps.
