Donoho Singers Entertain Although many singers graduated from last year's Donoho Voices, the Choir still managed to make two excellent perfor- mances this year. The Choir was led 'every Monday night by Mrs. Ann Kimbrough. This year's officers are President - Carry Taylor, Vice President - Charlie Bennett, Secretary!Treasurer - Iennifer West, and Librarians - Anne Hammer and Frances Walker. The Donoho Voice's per- formances were both entertaining and inspiring. The Donoho Players Act . . . and React Anita Boggs is the new director of the Donoho Players. She started the year off with Christmas presentations of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens and A Christmas Memory by Truman Capote. The cast of A Christmas Carol included Blake Smith, Russell Windsor, Sonya Walley, Valerie Palmedo, Todd Weymouth, Dana Stewart, and Elata Bowman, Rhett Woodruff, Ienny Fry, and Russ Dorsey. The cast of A Christmas Memory included Taylor Hunter and Stephanie Foster. This past Spring the drama depart- ment presented one of its first dramatic murder - mysteries, The Night of Ianuary 16th. This performance was directed by Dorothy Veach. The Donoho Players are planning to present a special Spring play this year and are looking forward to getting started on it. Service Clubs Establish Community Interest Hi-Y, a YMCA organization, offered students many programs such as Youth in City Government, Pre-Youth, and Youth Legislature. Through bi-monthly meetings, fund raising projects, I-Ii-Y became an integral part of our extra- curricular activities. Teen Involvement, an organization for Iuniors and Seniors interested in talking to fifth and sixth grade students on such subjects as drugs, alcohol, and sex, was very active this year. Every six weeks one boy and girl went to an elementary school to lead discussions on student problems. The Octagon Club is a youth organization offered by the Optimist Club International. Its purpose is to serve and help others in our community. This year's Octagon Club officers are Sonny Wilson - President, Gray Hughes - Vice President, and Margaret Iohnson - Secretary.
