s I Falcons Win 13-0 and the Gold We want the Gold, we want the Gold! This has been a common cheer during football season at Donoho for many years. The traditional t'Gold Football has been passed around since 1972. Coach Grubbs and White Plain's coach Ed Cleveland, started the tradition hoping to make the rival between the two neighboring schools more exciting. Although the Falcons had lost six games before, this season they proved how much the rival meant to them. The win over Spring Garden 140-71 the week before helped to put the Falcons into a winning spirit. The high spirits, though, of team captains Stuart Smith and lim Finley really pushed the foot- ball team, faculty, and students to cheer loudl and win the t'Gold. The boys knew that if they lost this ball game the White Plains Wildcats would have kept the trophy forever. They were positive, though, the whole time that they would continue the tradition. Another record was set this year. This game was the first in which the Falcons shut out the Wildcats. Ever one, es ecially the Senior players, were estatic. With quarterback Mille Sex- ton passin and linebackers Gray Hughes and Iim Finley breaking through Wildcats offense the Falcon's would not allow White Plains to score. This game of the season will be history as the next two following football seasons will hopefully keep the Gold home forever! 2:2-:g ,iiirg X g sm . iss...-P2215 Fw--test '- j A 1 5' ..
