Executive Officer LCDR Dennis D. Hancock, USN A resident of Florida, LCDR Hancock enlisted in the Naval Service in 1966. Following comple- tion of electronics school, he was assigned to Naval Support Activity Saigon, Vietnam where he served as a maintenance technician and crewmember on river patrol boats in the Mekong Delta. After the in-country tour, he was assigned to USS MANSFIELD (DD 728) which made a WestPac deployment prior to decommissioning. He was honorably discharged in April 1970. Following graduation from Florida State University in 1973, he was commissioned an Ensign through the Officer ' s Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island. Significant tours include Damage Control Assistant and Main Propulsion Assistant on USS TRIPPE (FF 1075), Engineer Officer on USS AYLWIN (FF 1081), Officer-in-Charge Engineering Mobile Training Team, Charleston, S.C, and Material Officer, Destroyer Squadron Four. LCDR Hancock is married to the former Carmen Griffin of Naples, Florida. They have two chil- dren, Joseph age 10, and Ellen age 8. The family resides in Charleston, S.C.
