'fret are WgI'S.3 Wein - ONTINUING a three game winning streak started last year, the Dolgeville Blue Devils began the 1950 football season by shutting out last year's champions, West Winfield, 32-0. Off to a good start, they kept right on going by next defeating Richfield Springs, 25-7. During this game, excellent play by Cool and Weinschreider, tackles, D. Smith and R. Metzler, guards, Rickard and Nagle, ends, and MacCarthy, center, kept the opposition's score to a minimum of 7 points. Several touchdown marches were staged by Dolgeville,,one of which went 70 yards for a score. Two excel- lent punts by Cuda, in the latter part of the game, kept the opposition in its own territory. In the following game with New York Mills, the Dolgeville Blue Devils rolled to a 27-0 win. Going on to Morrisville, they took the Midstate Conference Title to the tune of 40-0. Pat Pugliese, halfback, ran more than 90 yards for a touchdown in this game. Nick Miller, the other halfback, also ran circles around the opposition, coming up with two touchdowns and four extra points. After winning the title, the Blue Devils finished a very satisfying season by defeating Canajoharie, 60-0 with Pugliese and Miller each getting three touchdowns. In addition to winning the championship, our boys were rated the best defensive team in the area, which includes Little Falls, Ilion, and Glovers- ville, having had only seven points scored against them. On the offense, led by Miller and Pugliese and sparked by DeCarr, our quarterback, they were excellent also, having scored 184 points against the opposition. While the Blue Devils unbroken string of eight victories is an excellent record in itself, the fact that in seven of these victories the opposition was held scoreless makes the rec- ord something of which to be extremely proud. 33
