The National Chapter of DECA is a youth organi- zation to help develop leaders in the marketing and distributing aspects of business. Doherty's own Deca club was an active group not only in the school, but also in the community. The members of Deca spent the year developing skills in business and putting their skills to work in local area stores, such as LaBelles, Perkin Shearers, and j.C. Penney's. Their activities included a Christmas party for un- derpriviledged children, a muscular dystrophy dance-a-thon, and a gift wrapping booth at the Mall of the Bluffs. Deca also competed in District, State, and National Leadeship Conferences. The sponsor, Mr. Elston had a well-organized club which was run efficiently by President Brian Woz- niak, and the four other officers. It was a successful year. ,,,..,,..,., Above: DECA Officersg Kim Wayne, Gabi Feideler, Theresa Bell, Charlie Murdock, Pat Alalem, Susan Above: DECA members look enthusiastic at a morning meeting.
