T-Wire BME No one can say Doherty doesn't get in- volved! This year we had more students in- volved in All-City Choir than any other school in the entire city. We also tied with Coronado in the number of students that made all-state choir. To achieve the honor of making one these choirs, one must audi- tion before a judge or judges, and some- times it involves going out of town. Congratulations are due to those who made All-City and All-State. The members of All- State Choir are: Sheryl Brown, Sue Pershall, and Randy Stenson. The show and concert choirs are a very im- portant part of Doherty High School. Under the supervision of Mr. Ellis,dsoth choirs have accomplished a great deal. Concert Choir forms the nucleus of the highly acclaimed Doherty Vocal Music Department. It has secured excellant ratings in nearly every cho- ral festival it has participated in. Show Choir, which performs the more pop- ular music, is a highly select 4 part chorus. In addition to concerts for area civic groups, hospitals, and many District 11, junior high schools, Show Choir performs annually in the Doherty Dinner Music Theater. Because of the choir's superior talents, they were se- lected as participants in the Fiesta 80 Cho- ral Festival held in Mexico this May. Choir 37

Hire Gem Odyssey, under the direction of Trent Ellis, has proven to be an outstanding group. Some of their activities this year included a variety of concerts, and competitions. Odyssey and other choirs at Doherty were chosen to be Ambassa- dors of Good Will, for the State of Colorado, at the Fiesta 80 , an international contest in Mexico.
