SENIOR CLASS OFFICERS, LEFT TO RIGHT: President, Paul Clark: Vice-President, Sharon Greeneg Treasurer, Bruce Sites: Secretary, Karen Huttonp Student Council Representative, Louie Nevins. Mr. Dyson Paul Clark class sponsor senior class president The curtains were opened in T950 on T67 sophomore members of the Class of '53, For the leading roles, the class chose Phil Barnes as president, Patsy Payne as vice-president, Barbara Weigel as secretary-treasurer, and Sharon Greene as student council representative. For out- standing entertainment, three one-act plays were given-- Who Killed Ann Gage, Swept Clean Off Her Feet, and Sob Stuff. Pinky Haar was chosen Demon cheerleader, and three of the first Cowboy cheerleaders were sophomores--Heather Shanklin, Ruth Ann Sinks, and Betty Abel. Louie Nevins as president, Barbara Weigel as vice-president, Karen Hutton as treasurer, Patsy Payne as secretary, and Sharon Theis as Student Council representative entered the scene as Junior Class officers. Ruth Ann Sinks and Eddie Kennedy were elected Demon cheerleaders. The comedy, Not in a Thousand Years , was presented as the class play featuring the American family. The Junior-Senior banquetand prom was setin a beautiful background of gay Paree-- April in Paris. Jill Swartz was crowned Spring Sports Queen and Darlene Bittel was Prom Queen. Parker Stotler was the only Demon player to make the All-State basketball squad. The iuniors of 1952 tasted victory as they captured the Little Brown Jug from the seniors on Demon Day. The final act for the Senior Class began with Paul Clark as president, Sharon Greene as vice-president, Karen Hutton as secretary, Bruce Sites as treasurer, and Louie Nevins as Student Council representative. Three of the cheerleaders--Jill Swartz, Ruth Ann Sinks, and Pinky Haar--were seniors, Larry Snodgrass was chosen on the All-State football team after the Demons successfully won for an undefeated season. The victorious basketball team captured the League Championship title. The highlight of the year came with the Carnival and Floorshow which presented a tour through fabulous New York , following the theme, Manhattan Serenade . The Carnival committee was made up of Barbara Weigel, Sharon Theis, and Betty Abel, with Mr. Elwell as sponsor. .lerelyn Janousek was crowned Carnival Queen and Betty Struble reigned as Basketball Queen. The class play, Ghost Road, was well received and the year drew to a close with the annual senior picnic. The curtains closed on the finale, May 21, as T20 seniors donned cap and gown to receive their well-deserved, long-awaited diplomas. 10
