First, a Stuco co- mmittee made the rules For Sophomore Day and executed them . Second, the Student Coun- cil sponsored the annual Carnival and Floor- show, which was a great success this year with Barbara Weigel, Betty Abel, and Sharon Theis making up the Carnival Committee. Parent- Sponsored Dances are under the direction of the Student Council, which is also in charge of the outside Christmas decorations. . , Xonfls' . Dust? bottom. Cweue. . TAYLOR Head Coach JACK COTTON FRED DAY Assistant Coach Assistant Coach From the moment the brown practice togs were checked out to the day when the red and blue game suits were checked in, the Demon team of '52 proved itself one of the finest and most colorful in Dodge High football history. Not only were these gridsters undefeated and untied but they broke scoring records and were ranked the number three team in the final AP poll after being in the number two spot for many weeks. The Demons gained their fine record under the finest coaching the state can show in Head Coach B. A. Taylor, Emporia State graduate, and Assistant Coaches Fred Day and Jack Cotton, the men behind the scene. Mr. Taylor, who resigned to become head football coach at Wichita East High School next year, has compiled a victory string of nineteen games over the past three seasons. B. A. who was an All-American halfback while in college, has tutored Demon elevens for the past five years. The Demons' teamwork won them the West Central Kansas League Championship for the second consecutive year. The All-League second team included Board and Ventling. Willie Brown, Bob Cox, Ed Deis, Alvin Denton, Cyril Foote, Jack Madden, Larry Maskus, and Parker Stotler received All-League Honorable Mention, Depth was better than ever this year and it proved the winning factor in many of the Demon games.
