Class Hlstorq The Semor Class of 1952 started nts lourney through D C H S by bemg nmtnated Sophomore Day of 1949 They started the year wnth 169 members who chose Noble Butler as presndent Norma Arnold as vlce presudent Nancy Schweutzer Student Councul representatuve and Wanda Bard secretary treasurer They gave three one act plays, A Date for Boboy Sox Short of Murder and Ladres of the Mop They also proved themselves versatu le by gnvmg the carmval the new concesston Knock Norma out of Bed .gvubl Mxss Haag head sponsor Deb Hutchxnson presldent smash hut The theme of the Jumor Semor Prom was Castle tn the Clouds which was carried out very mcely In a speech by Ronald May The lumors of 1951 52 had the wlnnnng double team nn tenms conslstlng of Ronald Mayer and Jack Marler The class fouled to wrnthe ltttle brown lug Demon Day but lost nobly The floorshow and carmval commnttee For 1951 was made up of Norma Arnold head chatr man and her asslstants were Wanda Bard and Marcia Sauer The theme was Wmter Wonder land Ardls A l berty was chosen as Football Queen as the farst vuctory of the sensor year Myrlen James and Kenneth Everhart were chosen Myrlen James was the only sophomore to make ooth the football and basketballsquads Norma Arnold was crowned Carmval Queen whtch ts usually an honor held by a semor Three of the five cheerleaders were sophomores Jewell Flan agan Charlnss Oakes and Alva Hutton Thelr tumor year the class was led by Norma Arnoldas president Claude Fare vtce pres: dent Nancy Schweitzer secretary, Phyl l ts Ford treasurer, and Wanda Bird Student Councnl repre sentatlve Agam they had three members as cheerleaders They were Charluss Oakes Norma Arnold and Jewell Flanagan They gave the play Love ns too Much Trouble which was a CLASS OFFICERS LEFT TO RIGHT Larry Davts VICE prestdent Wanda Bxrd secretary Noel Rooney Student Counctl representattve Ardts Alberty treasurer Deb Hutctunson presldent to the All State squad for supertorplaymg ablllty on the Demon squad We had two cheerleaders thus year as semors Norma Arnold and Charluss Oakes These p p Leaders were a blgfactor tn our undefeated season nn football The class offucers who led the class through a very successful and prosperous year were, Deb Hutchtnson prestdent Larry Davls, vice pres: dent Ardus Alberty treasurer, Wanda Bard sec retary, and Noel Rooney Student Councul repre sentattve The year was clumaxed by the semor play and class plcmc On May 22, the semors marched malestucally across the stage to receive thelr well earned duplomas 1 1 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . a o u o I . .
