Chief's capable secretary is Betty Phillis Swain. Betty gra- duated with the class of 1947 and since her graduation has been serving as registrar of D.C.S,H.S. llhiel lualson This year marks Frank B. Toalson's tenth year as principal of D.C.S.l'l.S. Before becoming principal he served as football coach. He holds an A. B. degree from Wil- liam Jewell College and in l937 re- ceived his M.A. degree from the University of Kansas. A wealth of understanding is shown at all times by Chief. Fair to brilliant minds find that their school life gets better instead of worse-rather than beating down the students view-points and opinions, Chief respects and coun- cils with the student body, helping to bring about the unity exemplified in D. C. S. H. S. D.C.S.H.S. students find Chief cap- able of playing many roles and this is shown in his untireing interest for the activities of the school. Needless to say one can always count on Chief being in the foreground helping to encourage the students to retain the school's title Peppiest school in the Southwest . Chief helps to promote enthusiasm at pep assembly and Demon's pep parade. 5
