ll Why tty D y La gh W U NARRATOR TIMF September 1934 About one hundred and twentv fue sophomores entered Dodge Cltx H1gh School Ambl 121011 s sophomores' Sophomores who thought they could run the school In less than su: weeks these SOph1CS began to reahze that they were not the only ones 1n Dodge Hlgh that there were Juniors and semors who had much more to sav about the school affalrs than they d1d that they were decldedly underclass men Howex er they carrled on qulte well electlng for the1r class offlcers Harry Walte p1es1dent Florence Mae Vllller uce presldent Daylene Gonder secretary treasurer and Nadyne Peckham student councll representatlxe They nomlnated JGSSIS Wmters as thelr candldate for Foot ball Queen Although she dld not w1n she was an attendant T1m September 1935 Just one year later the sophomores of last year entered hlgh school as JUIIIOIS Thelr flrst step as Junlors was to elect class of flcers George Laughead presldent Harry Walte NICE presldent Betty Den IOUS secretary treasurer and Mary Belle Freem n student councll representatlxe The Junlors nomlnated Donna Jean Stark and Georglanne Stubbs as Sou wester Queens to compete agalnst two queens chosen from the sophomore and senlor classes Though these candldates were defeated It was by a close margln Under the d1rect1on of the able offlcers the class as a whole Worked untnmglv ln by Florence Mae Mlller securmg fmances and makmg plans for the annual banquet for the semors The Junior Class Play Oh Professor was presented February 19 196 to a large audlence Due to the use of the ac tn 1ty tlckets ln the student body th1s year they d1d not collect as much money as was needed for the banquet A commltte of elght was chosen from the class to flnd addltlonal ways of THIS mg funds for flnanclng the banquet The class through th1s commlttee secured the concesslon for sellmg refreshments durmg the Flne Arts MUSIC Festnal In th1S a credltable amount was ralsed Howex er thelr greatest flnanclng plan came when Mr Wooten manager of the Fox Theaters of Dodge Clty klndly con sented to let the Junlor class sponsor a feature plcture at the Fox Dodge theater Thls tlcket sale was xery successful and helped a great deal 1n enabllng the Juniors to entertaln the semors royally at a ban quet May 1 The Junlor Semor Banquet was held at the Rltz Ballroom Frlday May 1 The 1oom was beautlfully decorated and the color scheme was carrled out 1n grand style The speakers on the program were Harry Walte Glen Crawford Mr Robert E Anderson Mr Irvm L Luthl and Superxntendent A G Schroederrneler .li Bi 'man-Student Council Be ' enious-Secretar -Treas George Uf ead-President Harry aite-V'ce-President ,11- I , .
