4- . , fW2'gkegX wr' ' if I cu BOYS' GLEE CLUB BAND by Mr. Parman. Miss Sturgeon trained the dancers, and their dances were just grand, especially the dance of the wooden soldiers, in which the girls wore white silk and gold military suits and carried wooden guns. Small picked orchestras have played at various times during the year, for the operetta, etc. I guess the first time the complete 65-piece orchestra appeared was for the historical picture on January 10. We had a 30-minute program, and we girls wore semi-formals. Don't you love to? I always feel so-well, so rather specially dressed up! This year we have an hour's weekly broadcast at school through the local sta- tion. It usually consists of nearly half music, so we get lots of practice doing that. GIRLS' GLEE CLUB ORCHESTRA RHYTHMIC FOUR We have some new music equipment this year-a new bass horn, enough new capes to outfit the increased number in the band, and a drum-major's West Point uni- form. That first appearance of the drumapa- jor, Max Davis, with the band, was another spectacle. It was given between the halves of the Dodge-Pratt game. First, three trumpeters blew a fanfare in.three-part harmony that impressed and thrilled me simply breathless. Then Max blew his whistle and the band marched out there, formed twelve lines and played? So this is where you live. I have en- joyed talking with you so very much, but I hope I haven't bored you about this mu- sic. I'm so crazy about it. though. Oh, Nancy. I'll stop by about 8:05 in the morning.-
