The Board like a person acts as one and does what it thinks best so that the school as a whole vsill benefit from the results. Their chief aim is to see that the rising generations may have the very best of educational advantages. The Educational Board must stand the criticisms of the public whether they be just or harsh. Many of us do not understand the manner in which the Board manages the affairs of the school and we are too often ready to make these harsh criticisms. The Board of Education is one of the strongest factors of any education- al system. They did much to ful ther the construction of our nevx Senior High School Buildin . We the students of the Dodge City Senior High School do at this time take the opportunity to ercpress to them our great appreciation for their unselfi h share in the success of our schools and school life. lgagegas one Sowuiesrea 2 325825 schools, with no thought of reward or compensation. In our first year we were unusually well represented in both Boys' and Girls' Glee Club. In the Sophomore year Florence Gaunt was the president of one hundred thirty-four students, who had as their sponsor, for the second year, Miss Tenny. Bus States was on the basketball team. We remember this year by two events which we all enjoyed, the Sophomore hike and party. When we recall the party we remember the senior boys who stole our re- freshments. The enrollment gradually decreased each year and as Juniors there were only one hundred nine, out of the one hundred seventy-seven who started as freshmen. Two big successes were sponsored by the Junior Class, the Junior-Senior Banquet and Second Childhood. As Juniors we had more students on the honor roll than any other class. Floyd Crawford was president and Miss Eulalia Nevins sponsor. All class officers were boys. To take the place of the annual class fight the school took a day off and . In the new society there are four points by which a student is judged, scholarship, character, leadership and service. One shadow flitted across this last year. One of our classmates passed into the Great Unknown. The Senior Class as well as the school mourned the death of Irma Swindell. There are one hundred enrolled in the graduating class. This is the largest graduating class in the history of the school. It is also the first class to be graduated from the new building. There is sadness in knowing that our high school days are over and even though many of us are going on to college, those days will never be like the high school days. We can not help having a strange anticipation at the thought of graduating, just as any one feels at trying something new. We have reached the last of our high school history, the last step in the completion of high school learning and we hope success will be ours in the new and untried life to come. This closes the history of the graduat- ing Class of '29. It is not extraordinary but it is dear to every heart in the class, and it is with sadness and yet joy that we leave D. C. H. S. -B. M. R. The snow was about three inches deep all over the field and the temperature was low. Because of the snow and cold weather there were many fumbles which made the game more exciting. When the game ended the score was 20 to 7 in favor of Dodge City. The season was a very successful one. We won seven games and lost only two. The sportsmanship of all the players of D. C. H.
