Toclay, athletically, Dixie College has forrnecl a fletertnination to fielcl com- petitive teams in every sport the school participates in. Of course, there are times of losing, but Dixie has a firm resolution to he vigilant towarbls victory. placing great emphasis on exemplary sportsmanship. The football team plays a I0-game schefluleg lmaskethall players annually compete in 26 contests: an average of 24- hasehall games are playefl, numer- ous track, tennis anfl wrestling meets are scheclulefl in aclflition to conference, regional antl national championships. Dixie athletes in each sport travel antl compete with athletes from other junior colleges antl four-year schools through- out the western states. Most Dixie athletes participate in more than one sport, heing encouragefl to tlo so. It is not uncommon at Dixie to fincl two, three and even four-letter athletes. Personal attention from the heafl coach is given from the beginning of the fresh- man year. As the student-athlete becomes acquainted with the frienmlly college en- vironment, he also begins a well lialancefl athletic career.
