BRANDON Weapons department consists of approximately go men in three divisions, dealing with the repair, overhaul, test, storage and issue of anti-submarine Warfare weapons, means of delivery, records and equipment and training. The department spends over 6,ooo manhours per month throughout the year in both home and foreign ports providing ASW services to units of Cruiser-Destroyer Force, Pacific Fleet. W-1 division consists of men in the gunners' mate and torpedoman rates who are responsible for the anti-submarine rocket QASROCD and related components. W-2 division consists of the departmental yeoman and men in the torpedoman rate who are responsible for all phases of ASVV torpedoes and related equipment. W-3 division consists of men in the avionics and mechanic rates of naval air and is involved with the un-manned radio-controlled drone anti-submarine helicopter QDASI-ID and its support equipment.
