COR R. F. GALVEZ CSCD USN K Supply department is the silent partner in the Dixie organization. In performing the role of providing logistic support, supply department personnel handle the daily service functions needed to support a community of 850 crew- members-payroll, food service, clothing, laundry and dry cleaning, barber shop, tailor shop, soda fountain and retail store. In addition, in support of Dixie's primary mission for repair to other vessels and for its own maintenance requirements, the supply department carries approximately 55,000 line items of consumables, industrial, and technical repair parts valued at nearly 32,000,000 throughout 38 storerooms. Dixieburgers , famous throughout the fleet, are served nightly by supply department cooks to Dixie and tended ship personnel. S-1 OFFICE PERSONNEL BACK ROW LEFT TO RIGHT: BURTON D. F.
