THE EXECUTIVE OFFICER COMMANDER ALBERT G. HENRY, JR., USN, graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in I9-48. He was first assigned to the USS MERAPI IAF-38h he later served in USS TARAWA ICVA-4Ol and was Commanding Officer of the USS BUNTING CAMS-35. Commander Henry has seen duty in the USS DECATUR CDD-936D as Weapons Officer and USS FISKE CDDR-842D as Executive Officer. Ashore he has held the position of Naval Staff and Operations Officer Assistant at Naval Station, Naval Mine Defense Laboratory, Florida. Immediately before coming to the USS DIXIE CAD-I4D he was stationed at the Nuclear Weapons Training Center, Pacific. Commander Henry relieved Commander Bushy as the DIXIE's XO in February of I966. WILDER, USN, a native of Watertown, South Dakota, graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and was commissioned on 7 June l944. He served in the Pacific Theatre in USS PRESTON CDD-795D until the close of World War ll. All of his duty afloat has been in the Pacific Fleet, principally in the destroyer force. He was Executive Officer in USS R B ANDERSON CDD-7865 and commanded the uss WEDDERBURN CDD-684D Lmla me uss BRINKLEY BASS CDD-8875. Captain Wilder attended Post Graduate School at Stanford University and graduated from the Naval Warfare course at the U.S. Naval War College. He came to the USS DIXIE QAD-145 from his second tour in the Bureau of Naval Personnel. FOI' his actions in the Okinawa Campaign, Captain Wilder was awarded the Bronze St M d F ar e al with Combat V . He was awarded a Gold Star in lieu O acsecond award for his actions In the early months of the Korean conflict. GPTCIIFI Wilder and his wife, the former Geneva Barrus have two sons l-GWVSWCS E-1 l7, and David A., l5. On board DIXIE, X Division is on hand to ,complete its mission of Service for the Crew . This division is comprised of thirty-five men to fulfill the functions of the Administra- tive Office, Personnel Of- fice, Chaplain's Office, Master-at-Arms Force, and Post Office. Each is a sec- tion under the direction of the Commanding Officer and Executive Officer. The mission of the Ad- ministrative Office includes routing of all incoming cor- respondence and publica- tions to the respective de- partments for action, as well as insuring that all cor- respondence and recurring reports signed by the Com- manding Officer are checked T .for correctness in form, spelling, serialization, and date prior to mailing. Other duties include retaining master copies of all incom- ing and outgoing correspond- ence and publications and completing all entries in of- ficer service records. The personnel Office may be found busy during the day while personnel check for dates of transfer, advance- ment, re-enlistment and dis- charge. Each of the above necessitates an entryin ser- vice records, records kept up to date on important data concerning performance, awards, dependency, ad- vancement, leave and ed- ucation. Each is an im- portant factor to an individual. The Chaplain has respon- sibility of moral and spiritual guidance and of maintaining the library CII'1Cl crew's lounge for the re- laxation of the crew during off-duty hours.
