1951 Can Mean to D. H. S.
This year may see some great things for Dimmitt High. It may
see the Bobcats and Bobbi end their best sports year. The Bob-
cats have already ended th r best football season in the school's
' tory.
1951 may see the Bobbies gn to, and through the State Meet
ln this year. Last. year's Bobbie team was proclaimed as the best
ln the history of the state! Texas is known as the best basketball
tate, along with Iowa, in the United States. But the Bobbies have
the potential power no make the
longest string of consecutive state
plonshlps in Texas' basketball history in the years to come.
1951 will see n very good boys basketball team represent the
ughest basketball region in Texas fthe Panhandle's Region 15 in
e State meet. This team could be Dimmitt.
The Bobcats have excellent possibilities to cop the coveted State
ck Championship, this year with five of the seven track letter-
n back-each one a district winner.
1951 can and probably will be a great year for D. H. S. We can
e lt the greatest-it's up to us.

Looking back over Dimmitt
High's 1950 school year, it seems
they were quite successful. For,
instance in basketball, the Bob-
bies won State and two trips to
Waco. The Press Club Banquet
with the Coronation of Pat Tate
as Annual Queen, and still later
the Junior-Senior Banquet with
its beatiful decorations. The grad-
uation of the Senior Class with
it's happiness, sorrow and good-
byes, and of course the '50' An-
nuals. The football season brough
the Bobcats in the lime-light as
they were Bi-District champs and
along with the season was the
coronation of the Football Queen,
Mary Ann Davis. Our six Pep-
perettes, Yvonne Bearden, Katy
Coke, Rae Hardy, Phyllis Allen,
Carlene Cox, and Johnny God-
frey, did a swell job too. Quite a
few popularity contests came up
such as Class' Favorites, Most
Beautiful Girl! Bobbie Ruth
Wooten, and Most Handsome Boy
f'Jimmy Cluck, and Personality
King and Queen who were Dona
Lee Robertson and David Beh-
rends. The basketball season is
back and with it much excite-
ment, Dimmitt High had a full
year but it is looking for an even
fuller one this year and a bright
new future.
