STUDENT COUNCIL The governing body of the school, the Student Council, paves the way for better- ment of the school system thro-ugh in- creased interest of the students in educa- tion, sports, and recreation. The Council is composed of homeroom and class presidents and members at large. They meet weekly to plan projects and discuss problems which arise between students and faculty. Outstanding accomplishments of the Council include an improved Honor Sys- Secretary Eva Joyce Bethea busies herself with note-taking during a nexecutive meeting with Vice President Tommy Boroughs and Presi- dent Marion Carmichael. Marion's a loyal supporter of the Student Coun- cil sock dances, although he'lI admit it is a bit embarrassing at times. tem, Homecoming Festivities, a successful cleanup campaign, and a comical Sa- die Hawkins Dance.
