TO THE GRADUATES OF 1955: Working with you for the past twelve years has been a great pleas- ure and privilege. I remember when you entered the first grade, a group of bright-eyed youngsters, setting out on a new adventure. Now, after what seems only a few years, you are completing your public school training and experience and are moving on to greater fields of ad- venture. It is not everyone's privilege to live with a group for this period of time and to enjoy the thrill of seeing each of you mature into young men and women. For this opportunity, I am grateful indeed. Since you entered the public schools, there has been one phase MR. I. V. MARTIN Superintendent of progress that stands out in my mind. You have developed an ap- preciation of per sonal responsibility in helping fellow students and teach- ers to live together in a more co- operative manner. This achievement has strengthened our school program and, above all, helped each of you to develop as stronger members of a democratic society. Leaving us with an appreciation of your individual responsibility to others will bring happiness and success to each of you in your chosen field of service. You will always be remembered as one of the finest groups with which I have been closely associated. 2.

LEARNING Through the portals of Main Entrance many a student with many a vision has passed: King Arthur with his sturdy Knights, bewigged fore- fathers at Independence Hall, Julius Caesar lead- ing his armies to victory, and the blue -eyed blond in algebra class. Dillon High School's Main Entrance is more than a vision. lt is a passage- way to the worlds of knowledge hitherto unex- plored. It opens the way toa fortress of learn- ing. 7
