We Kvyna . -an . , ,G-W W . ' if U of . The band started marching early in the summer for the Pine Tree Festival Parade. After the Festival, they began getting ready for football season. There were lines painted on the streets in front of the school, 10 yards apart to practice marching when they couldn 't use the football field. Marching wasn 't the only thing practiced, they also practiced their music. The band livened up pep rallies with fast- paced, new, popular songs that all the kids liked. Af- ter football season, marching was still on their minds. They marched in the Nashville Christmas Pa- rade. Concert season began after football was over. A Christmas Concert was given in December, and the band members practiced after school to get ready. When that event was over, all the practicing began for the next concert held in the spring. Be- tween concerts, there were All Region try-outs. lon Dowdy, Kevin Whaley, and Christy Parker made the All Region band. loey Bailey got out his music for i the next song. To be chosen as a member of National Honor Society is one of the highest honors at D.H.S. A student has to have a 3.00 grade average to be nominated. Then wg, M 2' -,,,5.
