Girls' Athletic Association, the largest organization in school, provides a chance tor the girls to develop physical fitness and good sports- manship. Each girl learns that cooperation with her team- mates is necessary for a winning team. In the tall, members form teams to participate in playing volleyball. The champion team is awarded the little brown lug at the initiation banquet. The annual White Christmas Party which is spon- sored by GAA proved to be a social gathering enjoyed by all who attended. As it was held in the early part of December, it served as a opening event ot the season in DLHS. With the arrival ot winter, basketball teams were chosen and the girls once more exhibited their athletic ability in bowling. In the spring the girls participated in baseball. Sports have been proven to physically and mentally help the individual and through GAA a girl is given the chance to take part in sports. Row l: B. Suter, M. Wiggins, S. McDonald, P. Pep Club Boosts School Spirit What's a school without school spirit? What's a team without a backing? Nothing. To arouse school spirit and to provide student backing of our teams is the goal of Pep Club. The methods used to obtain this objective are the presenting of pep fe-sts, supervising the cheer- leaders, providing buses to out-of-town games, and urging students to attend all sport exhibitions. After two years of planning and long expectation, the trophy case was finally completed, and now contains the trophies won by DLHS. Pep Club may look at the trophy case with pride, and know that in the years to come, this will be a lasting symbol of the ambition of Pep Club. The annual Sadie Hawkins Dance, which is spon- sored by Pep Club, proved to be enioyed by all. A few weeks before the event, one may find the DL women chasing the men down the halls trying to secure a date for the dance. Q Row I: M, Northrup, S. Huntley, M. Sundvall, M. Peterson, B, Stilke, J.
