COMMA D MASTER CHIEF osclvlqsw TERRY H. BARNETT 1 X S 1? E S I F Master Chief Operations Specialist Terry H. Bamett was born in York, Pennsylvania and raised in Harris- burg, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Central Dau- phin High School in June 1966 and entered the Navy in July 1966. Following basic training in Great Lakes, Illinois, he was assigned to NAVASTROGRU DET B in Rosemount, Minn. Prior to reporting to USS DETROIT July 22, 1991 his previous tours included: USS CON- CORD IAFS-51, Operations Specialist A school, USS STANDLEY ICG-321, USS DEWEY QDDG-45J, Naval Training Center, Mayport Fl., USS NICHOLAS IFFG- 47J, Navy's Senior Enlisted Academy, Newport, RI., and the Atlantic Fleet Weapons Training Facility at Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico. During his career he has completed six Mediterra- nean deployments, one South American deployment, and one North Atlantic deployment. Master Chief Barnett's awards include the Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal Itwo awardsl, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Coast Guard Meritorious Unit Commendation, Battle Efficiency Rib- bon Ifour awardsl, Good Conduct Medal Ifive awardsl, National Defense Service Medal Itwo awardsj, Humani- tarian Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Navy and Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon and the Coast Guard Special Operations Service Ribbon. Master Chief Barnett is married to the former Susan Jane lbaugh of Harrisburg, PA. They reside in Tinton Falls, New Jersey with their daughter Stacy.

EXECUTIVE OFFICER CDR STEPHE J WALSH Commander Stephen J. Walsh was born in Be- thesda, Maryland, the son of Lieutenant Colonel and Mrs. John J. Walsh, USMC. He is a 1976 graduate of West Virginia University, eaming the degree of Bachelor of Music QMusic Historyj. He enlisted in the Navy in 1978 and after completing Officer Candidate School served as Second Division Officer aboard USS CHI- CAGO KCG-1 lj, Damage Control Assistant aboard USS CARPENTER QDD-825D, and Electronic Warfare Officer aboard USS BELKNAP KCG-261. Selected for graduate education, he next reported to the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California, completing his Master of Arts in National Security Affairs in 1984. Com- mander Walsh returned to sea as Operations Officer in USS CANISTEO IAO-991, and USS HAYLER QDD-997D. He then served as Coordinated ASW Instructor and Team Trainer Branch Officer at Fleet Antisubmarine Warfare Center, Atlantic, in Norfolk, Virginia. In August 1991 Commander Walsh reported as Executive Officer, USS DETROIT QAOE-41.
