The other came 1 fcw minutes fter the second half began when Cut tenden intercepted a pass on his own 1-5 ard line and raced to the same point at the other end of the field. Brown soon carried it over. The Tigers rushed the ball futilely for 15 Hrst downs and over 400 yards of ground but only crossed the goal line once when William, slipped inside of tackle cut back and stepped off the ten yards of turf between the line of scrimmage and the line of goal. The loss of the SheH'ield game secrred to take a lot cf pep and fight from the Tigers and they bowed to Decatur the next Friday 37 to 0. The game was played in Decatur and a huge crowd of Tuscumbians went oscr on a special train but only to see their favorites humbled. Coming back with a part of their old tin.e tactics the Crimsons made a nicer' show- ing in losing to the strong Russel' rille eleven 20-0 on their grid. The breaks went to the larger franklin County players and decided the confiict. Improving still more th, Deshlerites closed out thc season on Thanksgiving Day with one of the best f'2'lll19S of the season earning a 14 to 14 tie w'th Huntsville by a strong garrison finish in th- last quarter. Howard played a stellar game and scored ll the points. After scoring a touchdown to tie the score the Tufcumbians almost won with a forw'ard passing drire in the last two minutes that ended twenty yards from the goal. Howard was elected captain and Brower line-captain for the 1929 season.
