Rehef Corps sent some of thelr ablest representatxves to speak to the hugh school Mrs Windsor, president of the W R C , told very approprl ately of her vlsxt to ffMt Vernon, the home of the dlstmgutshed man whose birth the day commemorated Capt Walker read a very Inter estm paper Dr Hutchins lost Commander grew eloquent Ill glv ln his lesson of patriotism to the boys and glrls The words of men who have Illustrated such lessons tn their own lives can not fall to be IIIIPYCSSIVC On that same day Mr Peck of the Y M C A gave us knndly and helpful counsel Iresndent C has bchaeffer of the btate University looked m upon us one day and spoke a few well chosen words to the students Mr Wurtf the Lutheran mnmster elect also pald us a vlslt and compllmented our school ln all 1ts details udge Wrlght that gemal gentleman whom we all admire vlsxted us one morning durmg the muslc hour Wxth hls usual grace he complimented our deserving music teacher spoke eloquently of past and present school days and out of the stores of hrs vast experience gave us much excellent advlce many weddmgs m one year' It IS a thmg unheard of before and surely not to be desnred again lfor days and days the school was held ln suspense awaltxng the arrlval of Mr Sllnker who had been absent to be marrled of course But when he dld appear amld con gratulatory applause he named xt only a false alarm No the work of marrymg Mr Slmker all had to be done over again But lt was wxth good wall and hearty endeavor we sent some of the faculty off ln a closed carnage to attend Mr Slmker s weddmg Agaln our efforts were 1n vam and the happy task IS yet to do Not only have we labored m vam wlth Mr Slmker but also wlth Mxss Gowdy When one day she dld not appear we were sure It was to be her wedding day We had her successor elected and ready for work after the sprung vacation but back came Mlss Gowdy Do these teachers be heve that antlclpatlon IS better than realwatnon P There IS sometimes truth ln rumors and thls we found out when word reached us that our school mate Roy Gregory ln an absence of three days had begun the wedded hfe and would ne er be with us agam Our frlend of last year Ora Palkner 94 has changed her name and may Joy be w1th her What wxll happen to the 90 s after thelr commencement P Some may work some play and some may go mto wedded bllss ust How e we will see The Senlor entertamment, given March 20th and the matmee on the 30th was the most successful ever given m the school The house was crowded and the audlence enthusiastically cheered the actors rn thelr varied and graceful attxtudes 'Ihe farces were sprlghtly, the operetta novel and wonderfully taking And no won der, for In the ranks of the Seniors are many excellent muslclans, and under the dlrectlon of Mrs H R
