The Operations Department consists of four iiighly trained divisions respon- sible for the collection, evaluation and dissemination of combat information. Activities range from the Combat Information Center where the news center of the ship is continually maintained by the 01 Division, through the electronic technicians of the OE Division, to the Communicators in their radio spaces and the semaphore men of the signal bridge. The latter divisions, OR and OS, have additional duties on the Staff, ComSixthFleet and consequently are under their supervision.
