The S-3 Division is made up of Ship ' s Servicemen and assigned Storekeepers. They are responsible for running the Ship ' s Store, soda fountain, vending machines. Clothing and Small Stores, and the Ship ' s Stores activities, consisting of the Barber Shop, Cob- bler Shop, Laundry, and Tailor Shop. Arrangement for dry-cleaning services in port is also another function of this division. While the ship is deployed outside the terri- torial waters of the United States, foreign merchandise is procured for resale through the Ship ' s Stores at a cost far below that in the states. Profits from all sales provide rec- reational material and entertainment for the crew. Another load of fresh whites — Hot from the drying unit.
