Son Warner took the team's scoring honors with a total of 60 points with Lee Tate and Bob Bohn capturing second place with 42 points each. These boys were helped in their scoring by the exceptional downfield blocking of Bill Schmidt and Red Wliite. The team won several close games through the accurate extra point kicking of Bob Stroup with Scur Zieders holding the pigskin. Derry's well balanced defensive unit played a major role in the success of the 1950 team. Wlieri called upon, this rugged line-up gave their all in holding the opponents offensive. The stellar defensive l d Red Wliite backing performers were Bob Bom an up the line and hard charging Pret Gilbert and Bill Schmidt holding their posts in the line. orrmsive SQUAD DEFENSIV1 SQUAD uuusupuup1,l!l!l.- i Q, - ..,, .. - -- ' -M -rv 4 -K, 1 - , , h - ,. The coach, Mr. Est- right, had 26 boys report to the first practice and is pleased with the work they have done in the seven matches scheduled for the season. Wrestling is a new sport at Derry and by the looks of the attendance at the matches it is here to stay. Mr. Estright deserves a lot of credit for his hard work in organizing this new, exciting sport at Derry.
