Senior Class History We, the class of '48 of Derry Township High School, have placed the last link in the chain of our school life. Graduation was a long awaited achievement which we have finally attained. With this honor bestowed upon us, we shall endeavor to do our duty as American citizens. Upon entering high school, we Were 88 in. number. Many of our class- mates have withdrawn from school to enter the Service or obtain employ- mentg thus our enrollment has decreased to 57. Dufilig' OUI' Y92-FS of Schooling, We have had many teachers. To all our teachers we say, Thank you for giving us something that cannot be taken away -- our education. We shall always remember Our activities as Freshmen and Sopho- mores. Class parties, picnics, dances, and football games -- all these are behind us but will never be forgotten. In. our Junior year we enjoyed p1leSGHfiH8' OUP first Cl3SS Play, Pig- tails. Our annual Junior Prom was held in the form of a Dinner' Dance at Green Gables. Besides this, our year consisted of picnics and parties. We ordered our class rings, and hats and pennants. As Juniors we always looked forward to our Senior year. On September 3 we obtained our wish and became Seniors with our hopes high for a happy year. This, our last year, has been busy but excit- ing -- presenting our class play, We Shook The Family Tree, going to all the games, attending school parties and dances. The highlight of this year is the trip for which we have worked so hard. With the passing of Class Day, Baccalaureate, and Commencement, we shall say farewell to our lives as high school students and step out into the world as men and women. Wherever our new chain of events will start we shall be ready to place the links one bv one till our life is fulfil- led. So, with the placing of the last linkl in our life's. first chain, we say Farewell, Alma Mater - forever! Page Twenty one
