emoried 0 YOUTH AS A STUDENT We, the students ol Derry Township are those types ol students who believe heartily in both worlc and play, but we also realize that when doing either of these things, our minds must be kept entirely on the one subject. That is why, when worlcing, we are conscientious, deep-thinlcing boys and girls who strive for the highest goals ol attainment with tireless etlorts. This is what malces our student body a most cooperative group. Qur classes are run with etliciency, and at all times the students are willing to aid the teachers by studious worlc, lair-play, and dependability. This all adds up to malce D. T. an Alma Mater of which to be proud. AT PLAY Derry Township is a Firm believer in the old proverb all worlc and no play malces one a dull personf' This can well be proved by the many enjoyable movies, assemblies, dances, hay-rides, and other social events presented for the enjoyment of the student body by the various clubs. We all realized that without these ditlerent lorms of entertainment, school might have been dull and uneventful. Through these activities, many long and lasting friendships have been formed, and these friendships are the true lcind, good as gold which will stand the test of time. We also have been given the chance to meet, lcnow, and understand our teachers as people, not merely as brainy, intelligent machines. AN ATHLETE Memories of momentous occasions, ol hard fought battles, ol brislc fall days, and hot in the late spring and summer. All our memories of these days of glory and drudgery in athletics just urge us to recall some ol those grand experiences, which didn't mean so much to us, but oh, how many times Coach wor- ried over the outcome of the game--the prospects of the luture-and then how overjoyed he would become when his boys would succeed. We'll recall those days when the boys would trot out on the gridiron, march out on the hardwood, or jog around the traclc, to uphold the tradition of our school-a tradition ol honor and respect for Derry Township. Qur departing class has surely made a niche in the Derry Township l-lall of Fame, as well as in the memories of her loyal sons and daughters. 6 ,gn
