xx . Sl'llOl' ClClSS lDlCl EVERY FAMILY HAS ONE The Senior Class of Derry Township High School presented Every Family Has One on December 1, 1944 at 8:00 o'clock in the high school auditorium. The Reardons are a typical American family whose eccentricities are only normal. Laura, the mother, is a social climber who tells tales about her glorious ancestry. She is deliciously happy because she has engineered a match between her daughter, Marcia, and Sherwin Parker. Sherwin isn't really the one that Marcia likes though. Penelope, the bad little sister. is forever drumming on the piano just when she shouldn't be especially whenever Mrs. Parker is around. 'VVarry, the only son, is positive he is the coming Eugene O'Neill. The father Reginald would rather tinker with the automobile than ticker tape. Amidst his tinkering he does help to get rid of the Parkers. Much comedy is added whenever Nana realizes that Marcia really doesn't like Sherwin Parker and she is forever wisecracking about the Parkers. Also making plans every minute to get rid of them. Nana succeeds in doing this with the help of Cousin Lily who has come to visit Reardons. She is an adorable liar from down home with stage aspira- tions. She isnit really the Cousin Lily who is crazy but another Lily. Nana finds this out so she makes plans to get rid of the Parkers. Lily's performance as the skeleton in the Reardon closet is so convincing and the lurid facts she reveals so hilariously such as making wine in the kitchen sink and the Reardon home being next to the glue factory, shock the mighty Parkers to take heels in a hurry. Essie, the maid, is always trying to lind out the Reardonis affairs. Nana is well satisfied with her job done so well because she has reunited Marcia and Todd Galloway, the one that she really loves. After the Parkers have gone, Lily explains to the Reardons who she really is and VVa1'ry decides that even though his 'ldistant' relative is a bit on the daft side, she's the one girl for him. enior Class Histor Ganfinuecl Miss Nafzinger is to be congratulated for her Hue direction of the Senior Play, 'fEvery Family 'Has One . x.xfea1S'a'wiS11'fO pay our humble gratitude to Mr. Merrill NVagner for his excellent direction of our Junior Class Play, f'Little Miss Fortuneu. Through their untiring ehforts, both of these productions were very successful. Q All of our daysvin this, our last year of school. have been busy ones. As the time for graduation grew near, we became busier. Wfe did not mind it, for a busy person is a happy person. Parting from school after these twelve years is rather sad to us all. XVC will part and go to the many walks of life. Through these past years- we have been equipped so that we may meet the luture with joy and bravery in our hearts. But there will always be a place in our hearts that belongs to our dear Alma Mater. And so we of the class of nineteen hundred and forty-live say goodbye --forever. QZD L'HISTOlRE Page Twenty-five
