Derby's Ski Club took two buses to Pin
Knob Ski Resort every Thursday from 4:00
the afternoon until 9:00 at night. This ye
l the club was able to make eight trips to tlij
resort. On the first weekend of February
forty members of the club went North to sk
on the slopes of Boyne Highlands. Mr. Faylor
Mr. Schmidt and Mr. Spencer were th
sponsors of the group and could always bj
found smiling on their skiis. Occasionall
other teachers went with the club to try then
luck at skiing. l
The cabins at Boyne Highlands provided a lot of fun for Kim ,
Dibble, Kathy Anderson, Claudia Gammon, Deb Stack and Nancy
Rowe.

National Junior Honor Society has great, outstanding members. New
eighth and ninth graders are chosen and announced every spring in an
induction ceremony. These new members work in the club the
' following year. NJHS sponsered a seventh grade splash party and the
first dance of the year, the Octo Hop, which is pictured below. It was a
great success.

BOWLERS EORMED WEDNESDAY LEAGUE
Derby's bowling league, sponsored by Miss Jeanne, was a big success. Teams of four met every
Wednesday after school to compete for first place titles and trophies. Boys and girls leagues were
formed by the bowlers. Trophy winners in the boys league were Chuck Wallace, Steve Sinelli, Don
Basar and John Roberts for second semester and Bruce Heisler, Trevor Royston, Dave Applby and
Craig Holman for fxst semester. First semester girls' winners were Martha Stevens, Cheryl Gillum,
Kathy Foster and Steve Sinelli.
